Novus at the Singapore Museum

Met up to chill with Gab, Duanyi, Erin, Wei Xiu and her soon-to-be husband Arthur. We checked out this bar located within the museum compound. The Novus was divided between dining section and drinks bar. There were both open air and indoor seating, the former had evening live bands perfroming from 9pm onwards.

They served a limited range (2 to be exact) of french beers which tasted fruity and sweet, a refreshing alternative from the typical bitter strong alcoholic garden variety. I'd classify them as 'desert beer' if the term exists.

Price was on the high side at SGD16.00 a pint. Probably more affordable if orders were made during happy hour (before 9pm) where house pour are served 1-for-1 .

Someone else made a detail review, and I'm lazy to do mine. So here is a link instead

Bottles & Bottles -Vivo City

Checked out the Vivo City branch with Chunz. Got more seats than the Parkway branch and was more comfortable as the tables were located within the spacious shop space itself. The same rules apply here that allows patrons to take-in foods to go with their wine, as long as they clean up after that*.

Learnt of the newest branch that recently opened at Alexandra, making a total of four shops acorss the island. All are operated under the same ownership.

Today we tried a bottle of Gossips -Merlot nice, in a sweet, fruity way.

*Only the Parkway and Vivo branch allows eating-in. The others are for purchasing/take-aways only.

Bottles & Bottles

老爷Introduced us to this new wine shop located in the basement of Parkway Parade. Priced competively, with a bottle for SGD18.00, no corkage, and you can even bring your own food*.

*We got some shashimi from the nearby Japanese specialist store. Sashimi with wine was good. I'm managed to put behind my dislike for sashimi**

**Used to love sashimi until I went to a buffet and devoured an inhuman quantity. That time I still had a black hole inside my stomach. But nonetheless, I got pretty sick of the taste of uncooked dead fish.
